CUSTOMTER NEED:

A company is one of the larger OEM and top global automobile manufacturer, now part of Stellantis corporation born from its 50-50 cross merger with PSA group in 2021. IPS Lando has been a long time partner of it supporting its cross region export programs. IPS Lando has supported it in developing an engine packaging solution intended for Indian market.

CHALLENGE :

To ensure safe transportation, considering multi modal transport (road and sea), IPS Lando engineering team has developed a solution using OSB/ Plywood/ corrugated/ VCI protection. This multi material pack went through full ISTA tests including humidity and temperature control to recreate transit conditions. Once it performed with success the packaging solution was implemented and used smoothly for years.

SOLUTION:

When developing the pack, IPS Lando considered many factors. Wood was replaced by plywood and OSB to avoid fumigation and heat treatment. The engines rest on a OSB, CNC cut partition to ensure a perfect fitment. Engines are VCI bagged and lock into position with a security belt. Corrugated sleeve and plywood support finish the pack and offer the stack ability needed.

RESULTS:

IPS Lando solution is a real success for our customer. Cubic utilization was maximized to reduce logistics costs and improve carbon footprint. Win in material and logistics costs, achieving three goals, cost control, sustainability and of course protection performance.
